About Us

We are Molly Miller and Juanita Scarborough and our roots go back many generations on Hatteras Island.

Molly is a widow, mother of two sons and a retired postmaster.  After retirement from the USPS she had an opportunity to return to her home place in Buxton and is loving island life.  She has a great sense of humor and wants to share the love.

Juanita has a son and daughter and has been happily married to Hal for 37 years.  After retirement from the US Coast Guard they returned to their native home in Avon.  Juanita has a twinkle in her eye and can put any "bridezilla" at ease.

We both work for a local motel, The Croatoan Inn, and the concept for this venture came about accidentally.  Guests staying with us planned to be married at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.  They had obtained their license, permit for the ceremony on National Park Service Property but had not located a wedding officiant.  This proved to be more difficult and expensive than planned.  The idea was born, Molly later married them with a very touching, sunset ceremony by the lighthouse.  It was hard to say who had the most fun, the couple, guests or the officiant.

Our commitment is to make your day as relaxing and enjoyable as the island breezes.
